Thoughts that came up tonight, on how we treat each other: I think that, this being the internet, it’s really important to consider all of the meanings that could be behind someone’s words and actions. Not just the first one we apply based on the reaction we have towards it. It’s really easy to define an action or words with just one meaning, since tone can be severely misread through text. Even context alone can be misrepresented, twisted to have ill intentions when there weren’t any. What someone says can even be twisted to look good when it was not said with any good intentions, These two things, tone and context, are so important for interpreting someone’s message. But in this age where we communicate heavily with each other through text alone, especially over the internet, it’s important to consider more than one meaning behind what someone says because we lose important indicators that tell us what the true intention was.
